Can UV Sanitization Stop the Spread of COVID-19? We Have the Answers!

The spread of the Coronavirus is rapid, you can never tell who is going to get it or from where. We’re all trying to be as careful as possible, but we find it extremely hard to resist certain temptations like online shopping and ordering food from our favourite restaurants.

Most people are back to ordering food and other things they require online. With the option for contactless delivery, it doesn’t seem so scary to indulge in these simple pleasures.

The problem is, contactless delivery also has a risk. The COVID-19 virus stays alive on different surfaces for varying lengths of time!

What does science say?

When the virologists at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH)studied how long Sars-CoV-2 can last on different surfaces, the results were scary. The study showed that the virus could survive in droplets (when a person coughs or sneezes) for up to three hours after being coughed out into the air. The same study also showed that the virus survives for much longer on cardboard (24 hours), and on plastic and steel surfaces up to 2-3 days!

After this study, microbiologists in Beijing, China, also researched how long Sars-CoV-2 could survive and remain infectious on smooth surfaces. They found that it could survive on plastic, stainless steel, glass, ceramics, and latex gloves for up to seven days!

How do you keep your society safe from this?

Contactless delivery helps you come in contact with fewer people. This means that even if your delivery boy is a carrier, you won’t get it directly from him, but the items he is delivering might have the virus still alive on its surface.

To stay safe in this situation, what you need is – Contactless UV Sanitization. Here, UVC rays are used as they have the shortest wavelength, and therefore highest energy. They can kill up to 99.9% of viruses on any surface without causing damage. UV light has been used for years by hospitals to sanitizes surgical instruments and rooms, it is safer as it kills germs without using toxic chemicals.

Unsanitized box

How does contactless UV sanitization work?

This is a smart device that looks like a large box. This is placed at the entrance of your society and will effectively sanitize any package that you place inside it. There are 3 different sizes you can choose from –

  1. For only Food Parcels – 40 x 30 x 30 cms.
  2. For food parcels, small and medium sized e- commerce parcels – 50 x 40 x 30 cms.
  3. For food parcels, small, medium and large e-commerce parcels – 90 x 60 x 50 cms.

You activate the machine from your app, the door opens automatically, you place the parcel inside, the UV lights kill all germs and disinfects the package, you get a notification on the app when it’s done, you can take out the package and the door will open and close automatically!

No one in the society, be it a guard or any staff member or the resident will come in contact with any package, only once the package is sanitized will it be handled by people in the society. This FDA approved technology is one of the safest and best ways to sanitize packages, it’s time your society starts using it too.
